Job Description
- Ensure compliance with general accounting and tax procedures
- Corporate sustainability coordination
- Internal and external audits/controls and statutory submissions
- Ensures the application of all group procedures
- Coordinates all accounting services and monitors the proper application of the company's chart of accounts (local and group charts of accounts): ensuring that transactions are allocated to the correct cost centers and that accounting entries made by the accounting team at Nairobi HUB are accurate.
- Ensures the analysis, justification and reconciliation of accounts and financial statements
- Ensures the accounting and analysis of customer accounts (RA) and intercompany accounts.
- Participates in the preparation of summary tables and periodic reports (closing, monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Oversees the identification, valuation, and accounting of fixed assets and inventories.
- Sign the inventory sheet at the end of each month.
- Coordinates the transmission of supporting documents (customer invoices, suppliers, service providers, cash, bank statements, etc.) and other information (provisions, expenses to be paid, etc.) within contractual deadlines.
- Ensures compliance with and adherence to laws and regulations related to the industry, reports, deadlines, etc.
- Works closely with an external tax advisor for the preparation of all tax-related work: i.e., income tax returns, reports and payments, taxes,
- Keeps up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in training opportunities, joining professional organizations, following professional networks, and reading professional publications.
- Coordinates the company's sustainability efforts and ensures the timely and complete collection and submission of data.
- Monitors the aging customer balances across the DRC based on invoices and payments issued.
- Ensures the reliability and compliance of accounting data for SGS MINERALS RDC SAS,
- Ensures the management (maintenance of records and participation in meetings) of the administration of the industry and the relevant tax authorities in order to protect the company against tax, parafiscal and other risks;
- Manages all tax submissions and other statutory documents and coordinates tax returns
- Ensures the company's tax compliance
- Coordinates all internal controls and external audits and ensures company compliance and monitoring of action plans
- Report any problems encountered to your superiors.
- Performs the specific or exceptional tasks assigned to him by his superior.
- Responding to requests from companies/clients and resolving problems.
- Performs AR reconciliations.
- Transfer to the finance group allocation of payments received from clients.
- Assistance with the AR subsidiary ledger closing process and other month-end activities (provision for bad debts, unbilled revenue, WIP)
- Ensures follow-up of remittance details for receipts received and provides them to the hub for the purpose of AR allocation;
- Track unapplied and unidentified customer payments.
- Ensures that credit notes and invoices are properly cleared.
Qualifications
- Advanced technical diploma in the field of economics, financial literacy or any other similar field
- 5 years of professional experience in the field of accounting.
- Computer literate, primarily proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
